Join the Monday Night Life Drawing Group on Monday evenings from 6:30pm–9pm on the third floor of the Washburn Cultural Center. Organized independently of WCC, the group provides a welcoming space for artists to create, featuring a clothed live model each session. Please bring your own materials and equipment; no instruction provided.

Artists of all levels of experience are welcome—beginners, college students, professionals, and everything in-between. Everyone is very kind and non-judgemental, so there's no need to fear you aren't experienced enough to attend :o) It's a relaxed environment and we are all just here to draw, improve our practice, and support one another.

Sessions vary from week to week—classic figure study, portrait (head and shoulders), costumed interior figure, local musicians, stuff like that. During costumed interior and portrait sessions the model holds the same pose the entire night, with breaks. Figure sessions are a combo of quick gestures (1-5 min poses), short poses (10-25 min), and longer poses (30-90 min). Silence is encouraged while the model is posing. Conversation is encouraged during breaks.

If you feel like drawing and/or painting and are looking for a supportive community to explore your craft, we'd love to have you join us!

Please direct any additional questions to the Monday Night Life Drawing Group organizer, Kevin at WashburnArtHub(at)gmail(dot)com.
