The Washburn Area Historical Society Museum

The second floor of the Washburn Cultural Center houses the local history museum. Included are dioramas, photographs, and artifacts which depict the people and industries that shaped Washburn.

Scenes From Our Exhibits

For 35 years, the all-volunteer Washburn Area Historical Society has been providing a place for local people to donate all sorts of items of historic significance for preservation and sharing with the general public. Consequently, WAHS has a sizable, varied collection of historical treasures housed in our archives. The centerpiece of the collection is the complete photo and manuscript estate of the late, great Charles M. Sheridan (1905-1991), a prolific, nationally known photojournalist who was born and raised in Washburn and lived out his days here.
